Many people are searching for their life purpose. It is a big decision to decide whether to study business or nursing, for example.

Paul Ferrini, in The Laws of Love, states, “”I always tell them: do whatever you like. But what you like is your ‘like purpose’ not your life purpose. You can choose your ‘like purpose,’ but you can’t choose your life purpose. It is not negotiable. You have to do it. You are compelled. It is your gift and you have to give it.”

Still people often ask, “But what is my gift?’

Ferrini says, “That is because you are in denial of your wound.” “When you deny your wound, you can’t find your gift.”

“Only when you acknowledge the place where you have been wounded, feel the pain of that, and let go of the judgment, the anger or the guilt associated with it, can you begin to heal. And unless you heal, you cannot serve.”

“All gifts are gifts of love. They are gifts of service. They are a healer’s hand reaching back to help a brother or sister who has a pain or a wound that the healer understands, because he or she has been there.”
